Who was Homer ?
|
The subject "who was Homer?" has always been
controversial .
It is generally admitted
that he was blind , came from the Greek island of Chios, or
from the town of Smyrna, few miles away from Chios and
presently named Izmir (Turkey).
Homer lived around 750 B.C. , 3
centuries after the famous Trojan War.
He
is one of the men who brought up the first written
literature . It is uncertain whether Homer wrote both
the Iliad and the Odyssey and composed himself each epic.
